Senior Chemical Engineer
Responsibilities:

Oversees workflow design including selection of equipment to characterize and test catalyst processes and performance.

In collaboration with cross-functional team, contributes to development and implementation of catalyst and process optimization.

Designs and implements high-throughput, lab scale and pilot scale experiments and equipment for further reactor design and process optimization.

Obtains and analyzes data for process scale-up.

Reviews academic and patent literature in the relevant area of catalyst design, chemical engineering, and reactor design.

Defines laboratory capabilities, analytical capabilities, process development test methods, and procedures.
Requirements:
-
PhD or MS in Chemical Engineering (preferred) or Chemistry.

5-10+ years of relevant industrial experience in heterogeneous catalytic processes.
-
Experience with testing and development of heterogeneous catalystsprocesses at lab scale and pilot scale.
-
Strong analytical background with extensive gas chromatography (GC) experience and data integration. GC method development with petroleum-like products is a plus.

Mechanically oriented with experience implementing and maintain inganalytical instrumentation.

Must be familiar with DOE methodology, experience with high throughput screening methodology is a plus.

Experience with reactor design, reaction process engineering and process modeling.

Must be very flexible, able to learn independently and communicate well with a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities:

Contributes to development and implementation of catalyst synthesis, optimization and scale-up.

Obtains and analyzes data for process optimization and scale-up.

Defines laboratory capabilities, analytical capabilities, process development test methods and procedures.

Participates in designing the workflow and selecting the equipment to synthesize, characterize and test catalysts.

Reviews academic and patent literature in the relevant area of material synthesis and catalysts optimization.
Requirements:

PhD or MS in Chemistry (preferred), Chemical Engineering or Material Science.

10+ years of relevant experience in synthesis and development of new materials for heterogeneous catalysis, including 2+ years of relevant experience in industry.

Experience with synthesis and development of nanostructured and porous materials.
-
Strong analytical background with extensive experience with material characterization methods such as x-ray diffraction (XRD), elemental analysis (XRF, ICP-MS, XPS, etc.), surface area analysis (BET, etc.), thermal analysis (TGA, DSC, DTA, etc.), electron microscopy (TEM, SEM) and others.

Experience with testing and development of heterogeneous catalysts.
-
Must be familiar with DOE methodology, experience with high throughput screening methodology is a plus.

Must be very flexible, able to learn independently and communicate well within cross-functional teams.

Process Engineer
Responsibilities:
-
As a member of our cross-functional team, contributes to engineering design, development and commercialization of a novel catalytic process.

Develops detailed design documentation sufficient for Class 2 cost estimate.
-
Formulates and implements plans to achieve technical requirements, scheduling, and projectcommitments.
-
Focuses on safety in detailed design elements.
-
Assures proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
-
Performs: feasibility studies, economic analysis of projects, process design, equipment specification, evaluation and selection of equipment and materials.
-
Communicates project status, and significant developments.
Requirements:

MS or BS in Chemical Engineering.

5+ years of relevant industrial experience with light hydrocarbon recovery, i.e. refinery contact engineer, etc.
-
Experience with process modeling tools is a plus, as well as execution/start-up experience.

Must possess process design capabilities.
-
Must be very flexible, able to learn independently and communicate well with a cross-functional team.

Local/familiar with San Francisco or willing to relocate.

Project Engineer with process experience
Responsibilities:
-
Identify and resolve issues associated with the execution of demonstration and commercial projects employing Siluria Technologies’ OCM process.
-
Development of project execution and contracting strategy, including contractor screening and selection, contract development, schedule and associated items.
-
Monitor and modify contractor’s activities during detailed engineering, procurement and construction. Ensure contract and schedule adherence.
-
Serve as single point interface between process engineering and business development teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of shared technical data and information.
-
Proactively support business development activity, working with Siluria / Industrial Partner project development teams.
Requirements:
-
Chemical, Mechanical or Civil Engineer with 5+ years experience.
-
Experience with the execution of projects involving oil, gas or chemical processing, including contractor selection, process and detailed engineering, procurement and construction.
-
Experience with chemical engineering process design or process plant operations.
-
Must be very flexible, able to learn independently and communicate well with a cross-functional team.
