Tuvia Barak
Tuvia Barak, an advisor to Siluria, is President of the Crossways Group, a marketing and consulting practice advising U.S. and international companies on business development, marketing strategies, technology assessment, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Barak is a Venture Partner with Lux Capital, a New York-based venture capital fund that backs companies developing innovations in the life sciences and physical sciences. Mr. Barak is a member of the Board of Directors of Skyline Software, Arinc Corp., WhiteCanyon Software and Atair Aerospace. His many clients have included The Carlyle Group, L-3 Communications, ITT, General Dynamics, AAI/Textron, BAE, EDS, DRS, Elbit Systems, Schott, Selex, Ness Technologies, Vought Aircraft, SanDisk, United Defense, Mantech International, Nanosys, MapInfo, Rockwell Collins and Raytheon.
Edward P. Djerejian
Ambassador Edward P. Djerejian is the founding director of the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University. His career in the U.S. Foreign Service spanned the administrations of eight presidents from John F. Kennedy to Bill Clinton. Mr. Djerejian is a leading expert on national security, foreign policy and the complex political, security, economic, energy, religious and ethnic issues of the Middle East and South Asia. Prior to his nomination by President Bill Clinton as U.S. ambassador to Israel, he served both President George H.W. Bush and President Clinton as assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs and President Ronald Reagan and President Bush as U.S. ambassador to the Syrian Arab Republic. He was special assistant to President Reagan and deputy press secretary for foreign affairs in the White House. Djerejian has holds the Presidential Distinguished Service Award, the Department of State's Distinguished Honor Award, the President's Meritorious Service Award, the Anti-Defamation League’s Moral Statesman Award, and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. He is also a recipient of the Association of Rice Alumni’s Gold Medal, the group’s most prestigious award, for his service to the university. In 2011, Djerejian was elected a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious honorary societies and independent policy research centers. Also in 2011, he was named to the board of trustees of the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
R. James Woolsey
R. James Woolsey is Chairman of Woolsey Partners LLC and a Venture Partner with Lux Capital Management. He also Chairs the Board of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, is Of Counsel to the law firm of Goodwin Procter, chairman of the Strategic Advisory Group of Paladin Capital Corporation, and chairs the Advisory Board of the Opportunities Development Group.
He previously was a Venture Partner and Senior Advisor to VantagePoint Venture Partners. In 2009, he was the Annenberg Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. Between 2002 and 2008, Mr. Woolsey was a Partner with Booz Allen Hamilton in McLean, Virginia, specializing in energy and security issues, and prior to that a partner with Shea & Gardner in Washington D.C., specializing in commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution (arbitration and mediation). He practiced at the firm for 22 years on four different occasions and served in the U.S. Government 5 times for 12 years, holding Presidential appointments in 2 Republican and 2 Democratic administrations. He was the Director of Central Intelligence from 1993 to 1995. He has served on numerous corporate and non-profit boards.
From time to time he speaks publicly and contributes articles to newspapers and other periodicals on such issues as national security, energy, foreign affairs and intelligence.
